I was very lucky this year to have a reasonably small class -- just 13 in my 8th grade class and 15 in my 7th grade class.

I personally didn't (and still don't) see the harm in it. But as far as you being a parent that would "freak" if I were the teacher of your child -- wow ... you must freak out a lot if it would take something as minor as this to set you off. I think your child will eventually "freak out" for being your child -- if he/she hasn't already.
